Join us in bringing fresh, nutritious food directly to communities in need! As a Mobile Pantry Volunteer, you’ll play a hands-on role in setting up, distributing food, and engaging with clients in an outdoor environment. This is a rewarding opportunity for individuals who enjoy being active, working with others, and making a tangible difference in their community.
Volunteer Responsibilities:
Site Setup & Cleanup: Assist with setting up tables and organizing food items for distribution. At the end of the shift, help break down and clean up.
Food Distribution: Hand food items directly to clients as they shop the mobile market, ensuring a smooth and respectful experience.
Client Engagement: Greet clients warmly, provide directions, and help create a welcoming, supportive environment.
Support Tasks: Depending on the location, volunteers may assist with managing lines, directing traffic, or helping with registration.
What to Expect:
Arrival & Check-In: Volunteers should arrive 10 minutes early (7:35am) to check in, receive a brief orientation, and get assigned their role.
Parking: Please use the church parking lot.
Outdoor Setting: Mobile pantries take place outdoors (unless otherwise noted), so please dress for the weather.
Physical Activity: Expect to be on your feet, lifting up to 25 lbs. Be prepared to stand for extended periods.
Time Commitment: Shifts typically last around 2 to 2.5 hours.
Positive Attitude: Courtesy, flexibility, and a helpful spirit are key to a successful experience for everyone involved.
